Colour Your World – Dragonfly Dreams

Colour Your World Header

Thanks for joining me for the Colour Your World Blog Hop! Can you believe it is already the last hop for 2016!  You’ll find the full list of participants at the bottom so you can head all the way round the world and be inspired by this very clever group of ladies.

It’s a lovely warm Christmassy colour palette this month so I did anything but a Christmas card – just to keep you all guessing 😉  The colours really called out ‘sponged colour block’ to me so that’s what I started with and then headed to my stamp shelf to find an image that would work with the sponging (yeah, I know…you would normally choose the stamp set first….)

I was lucky enough to receive the NEW Dragonfly Dreams stamp set from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue at OnStage in November and the large dragonfly was the perfect fit for this card!  There is a coordinating set of thinlit dies as well but I just stuck with the stamp set:

When I had finished the stamping and mounting on the card front I just felt that it was missing a little texture or something so I added a few drops of Fine-tip Glue  to represent dew drops – an easy finishing touch!  That’s it for me this month – be sure to hop around the world and check out all of the other great projects.  You can start with the lovely Sam Hammond in the UK

  1. I really like the dragonfly cards and the colours you used, Sharlene, thanks for sharing.

  2. Such a wonderful presentation this month! I LOVE the dew drops – I’m going to have to try that next time. Adds just the right “dimension” to your card.
